Chris Hemsworth AM born August 11, 1983 is an Australian actor. He rose to prominence playing Kim Hyde in the Australian TV series Home and Away (2004-2007) before starting a film career in Hollywood.

Hemsworth is best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Thor (2011) and appearing in several MCU films and two fictional shorts. He recently voiced the alternate variant of Thor, Party Thor, in the animated series What If …? (2021). Representing Thor has established him among the highest paid actors in the world.

Hemsworth’s other movie roles include the action films Star Trek (2009), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), Red Dawn (2012), Blackhat (2015), Men in Black: International (2019), Extraction (2020), the thriller A Perfect Getaway (2009) and the comedy Ghostbusters (2016). His most critically acclaimed films include the horror comedy The Cabin in the Woods (2012) and the biographical sports film Rush (2013) in which he stars as James Hunt.

Hemsworth began dating Spanish model and actress Elsa Pataky in early 2010 after meeting through their mutual representatives. They were married in December 2010.
