AB: Action By

AB is an abbreviation of “Action By”.

It is an expression, which is commonly used in the Gmail platform. It used in the body of the mail as a time indicator to inform the recipient that the task needs to be done by the given deadline.

Let us take an example to make it easy to understand.

In an email, if it is written:
PFA document file of English to Hindi translation. AB+1.

It means that the task given in the mail needed to be completed by 1 day that is action needed to be taken within 1 day.

Other examples:

1. AB+5.
2. PFA Image. Design the similar template. AB+7.

Now, these days, the demands of acronyms are very high on social media online chatting or messaging, so the users usually use AB as a replacement for Action By.

So, in this way, the abbreviation AB is used mostly on the social media platform.
While this slang is very common in social media platforms, mainly email messaging, still many are unaware of this slang.
